I have two free events with the BAA in July plus a New Moon Gathering on Wednesday!
Envision the Dream with a Vision Board
Tuesday, July 8th, 6 – 8:00 pm at the BAA Community Studio
(2810 Wilderness Pl, Suite C, Boulder CO) FREE workshop!
Do you have a dream that’s been left slumbering, waiting for that perfect moment to spark back into existence? Bring it to life with a Vision Board! Holding the vision of Dream in the mind’s eye is a great place to start, but it can become taxing to keep the pieces together. Creating a Vision Board transforms the dream into a concrete image, allowing the mind to rest and starting the process of manifestation outside of the self.
New Moon Gathering this Wednesday, June 25th
*NEW TIME* 9:30-11:30 am mountain
Join us in the Creative Coven Discord to create a Vision Board in alignment with the New Moon in Cancer. I listened to your feedback and after experimenting last month we are moving the gathering to the morning for ease and flow. Bring your scissors, glue, and cut images, or a program like Canva and see what is ready to manifest.
Belly Dancing Quick Sketch on First Friday
Join us for 4th of July events at the BAA Community Studio at Wilderness Art Studios (2810 Wilderness Pl, Suite C).
Gesture draw live bellydancers in action 4:30 - 5:00 pm, featuring bellydancing troupe, Tribal Misfits @tribalmisfits!

All are Welcome!
HAIL RUBY, Beacon of Shining Love, Banisher of Grief, Revealer of True Wisdom! Enthusiastic Ruby, I welcome you into my life to dissolve away the barriers of trauma and pain that surround my gifts and joy. Starting today, I step out into the world to share my beauty and talent, knowing that like you, I am powerful and worthy. I will listen to your sparkling whispers to know where to share these magnificent parts of myself, so that all lights can shine bright together. Hail and Welcome!
Seeking Wholeness with the Fullness of the Sun
The first creature I saw on Friday, the magickal Summer Solstice day, was a Ladybug. She was sitting on the Dill in my garden, and I noticed her while I watered the plants before the hot hot heat of the day took hold. Ladybug always reminds me of my grandmother on my mom's side, my Granny Mary. She called them Bishy Barney Bee's which apparently is unique to Norfolk where she hailed from. I've been exploring quests with the Dream Arc through the Gene Keys and Ladybird represents a fear of success, a fear I have been wrestling with this season. Both a fear of lack of success, and a fear of becoming successful. I feel in gridlock with myself, and it is tiring to say the least.
The other creature I encountered was the Robin. Robin has built a nest outside my studio window, and I can see her coming and going through out the day. I wrote about Robin back at the Equinox and also dove into the meaning of Robin in the Dream Arc where she represents the Vision of Sacred Fire. Her invitation is to move through the world as your most divine self for 40 days. I've explored my inner Queen and centered self in newsletters recently, but I am sensing it is time to integrate this wholeness even more.
Shining Brightly with Ruby
As I pondered these encounters I felt drawn to connect with Ruby. The red pink glow of Ruby is incredibly grounding and inspiring to me. And I was amazed by the synchronicity of Ruby being connected to Ladybird through the 46th Gene Key. Ruby asks us to shine brightly. To remember with our whole being “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle” (James Keller). So starting with Solstice today I am committing to 40 days of shining brightly and to see what luck this may bring me.
Gratitude as a Guide to the Light
The Invocation for Ruby in the 52 Facets Zine begins with the following invitation:
Light a Red Candle, watching the flame flicker.
Light another candle from the Red one, and another.
One for each gratitude you have today.
Candles for Gratitude
I actually began by resetting the Altar in my studio. I set it in the winter, and today felt like the day to refresh the energy. I paused my writing to enjoy this task and really settle into the invoked magick of Ruby. I ended up being interrupted by family matters and had to return to the ritual on Monday morning. In the end, the timing was perfect, allowing me to center in gratitude before a busy week of visiting family and celebrations.
I lit so many candles! and I felt that once I started I could light hundreds of candles for my gratitude. Gratitude to my body. Gratitude to my family. Gratitude to the land I live on. Gratitude to the crystals in the Earth, and the beauty of the flame and the Robin and the Ladybird. Gratitude to my ancestors. Gratitude for dance and music and the Goddesses. I went on for a long time. A cleansing magick attended this solstice ritual, as I needed so many candles, I searched my stash to use up what I had in waiting. I let old birthday candles and ritual candles burn to completion, finally releasing their wishes and blessings to the stars.
I wondered what the light would look like if everyone started every day with a devotional practice of lighting candles, and literally bringing to light their appreciation and blessings through this act of gratitude.
How did you honor the solstice this year?
Where is Gratitude showing up in your life?
How many candles can you light?
