This is my wish for 2025. For myself. For my family. For my community. For all the plants and animals and minerals and waters of this planet. For all beings.
Every year I draw a card from the Shapeshifter's Tarot Deck. Normally I linger till midnight to draw a card in the first breathe's of the New Year, but that wasn't a viable option for me this time around due to my little one keeping me up most of the previous night with teething pains. So I surrounded my cards in Citrine stones and waited for the best moment the next day.
Gathered with friends, and with a lavender candle lit, I pulled my new card. I was so ready to play with a new and fresh energy after the weight of 2024's card, Eight of Swords.
My Card of the Year 2025
11 Seeker of Water- Nimue
Yes! Bring me to the water's edge and let me swim in the emotional tides of the cups for 2025. Let me Become a River, shapeshifting with the power of landscapes. I am enlivened by the myth of Nimue, one of the many Lady's of the Lake, and her relationships with Merlin. Entering a collective Hermit year with the magick of Merlin in my personal cards feels potent. And I am in deep gratitude to Citrine for the gentle Joy this card has already brought into my life only two weeks into the New Year. I do not know how this card will weave with the desires to make altars and shrines that bubbled to the surface for me in the final quarter of last year. I trust that it will all knit together.
In my twenties I had a lot of tools for cultivating Joy in my life. After 2020 and entering my thirties, I became disillusioned to a lot of what I had learned, lumping almost all of those skills under a banner of spiritual bypassing, personal delusion, and useless "thoughts and prayers" energies. As time trickles by, I think I made too drastic of a shift, over-correcting and losing a lot of my resilience practices. I want to revisit and refine the wealth of joy building skills I learned when I was younger and bring more of them into my life today.
Simple Wealth Rituals with Citrine
A wealthy life can look many different ways depending on what you value. To you, wealth could be actual money and financial security. Or it could be a wealth of community in friends and family. These rituals are more focused around material gain, however they can be adapted for any orientation around abundance. You have the power to shape the way prosperity looks in your life, and Citrine is here to assist you in your goals.
Manifestation Meditation
Find a quiet and comfortable place to lie down. Place a piece of Citrine on your Solar Plexus, which is just above your belly button, between your ribs. This is the center of action in the body. Meditate on your goals, envisioning abundance, gold, and wealth flowing into your spirit.

Meditating on Joy with Citrine
I listened to a dozen different Citrine Abundance guided meditations because I was struggling to make the time and focus on my own. I didn't like any of the ones I listened to and it made me wonder if I wanted to write my own. Leave a comment if that is something you would be interested in. In the end I settled down with citrine meditation album with no words or guidance. While listening with the image of Citrine in my mind's eye the image of molten golden Swan came flowing out of my Solar Plexus, strong and filled with purpose. I was reminded of the Guardian to the Solar Plexus and Golden Yellow altar that I called in for the Prismic Vision 2020 New Year's Event. It was a symbol of welcoming and belonging.

I ended my Citrine meditation with a sense that creating belonging and welcoming community was a worthy goal to pursue this year, and one that would lead to the kind of abundance and prosperity I am seeking. One concrete action I am taking towards this goal this year is to start hosting weekly dinners at my home again. I hosted dinner for years, and to this day still host potlucks every six weeks, but I am looking forward to starting a more frequent rhythm with my community.
